I am a 63 year old disabled woman and was tired of looking at this old run down bathroom. I decided to remodel it using pallet wood BY MYSELF. The only purchases were the sink, faucet and floor.
before...25 years old...need I say more?
before...I was so tired of it.
I made a few things that will go on the walls after the paint dries.
Since I was doing away with the cabinet over the toilet, I needed places to put things.
Towel hook from a natural branch for my husband.
A place for the toilet tissue.
revamped a $1 trash can by weaving strips of old material I had laying around.
Made these "just because". No purpose...just to look pretty.

I rebuilt the vanity and added this built-in storage to the outside end.
Glass canning jars mounted to a board with hose clamps added yet more places to put things.
Spray painted my brass colored light fixture black and replaced the glass shades with canning jars.
I did a lot of searching around for that perfect sink and faucet. I did have trouble with the plumbing. It was 25 years old after all and hadn't been touched. After several visits to our local hardware store, I finally got it done.
I made curtains for the vanity to match the sink and trash can. I am thrilled with how it turned out.
The finished product...I rebuilt the countertop by screwing pallet boards to plywood, sanded, stained and coated with marine varnish. Made a new frame for the mirror...did the wains-coating using 2 different stains to give it the aged look since sanding the wood took that away. I used driftwood stain...wiped it off and the added streaks of dark walnut and wiped the excess off. I finished it with polyurethane. I hung all the shelves and other things I made for the walls and then laid the stick-on floor tiles last.

Girlfriend--this is QUITE the amazing re-do! I'm impressed out of my socks!! You should think about giving DIY classes! One suggestion...ever think about using some of your pallet wood to box in your toilet and make it look like the seat from a backyard privvy? Saw that at a couple's lakehous, and it was unforgettable for all the right reasons. They then covered the commode opening with a natural wood toilet seat to complete the rustic effect. 125 years ago it would have been authentic. Just a thought! You are SO talented!!!
