Freebie Vanity Makeover

My sister-in-law recently gave me a vanity. Her daughter had it in her room for years, but was in college now and no longer used it. Being a mom of two girls and lover of all things DIY, she gifted it to me to give it some TLC...
First, I worked on the bench. I spray painted the base white, and I ripped off the purple shag fabric and rewrapped the pillow underneath in fabric I already had. Just used some fast tack upholstery spray and it's not going anywhere!
So that's done...Then I removed the inserts, spray painted them white also, measured 2 inch strips and used painter's tape to create a striped effect with a sample of blue paint. But it needed something else. I grabbed my letter stencils and gold metallic craft paint and wrote be-you-tiful on it. I wanted the YOU part to stand out, so I freehanded that part. Thought it was the perfect word for a little girl's vanity.
I spray painted the base white, and used a protective spray paint all over EVERYTHING so it can stand up to an 8 year old girl! And we're done!
A freebie makeover...gotta love it!
