Painted Knotty Pine

Good morning! When a client asked me to lighten up her bedroom set by painting it white (by email) I didn't realize it was knotty pine and said "sure no problem!"... Well it WAS a problem - those knots took forever to cover. I shellacked the entire piece twice. Then I primed it once using Zinser BIN (a shellac based oil primer). Then spot checked certain areas yet again! Finally it was ready for not one not two, but three coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint in pure white. Was it worth it? The customer's thrilled so yes - it most certainly was! Meet Nellie the naughty pine dresser. :)
I distressed all the edges to keep the country feel of the piece
The harp style mirror makes this piece!
I seldom paint the interiors (unless they really "need" it) but usually add a little fun detail.
