Well, I’ve been busy getting ready to sell our home. My husband and I have decided to make a major change in our lives and getting rid of the home is one of the changes. The problem was I had painted most everything all white which gave it a clean fresh look, but didn’t give it much character. So if anybody knows me they know that a little bit of paint goes a long way.

Plain white trim and closet doors
Prepping walls

As You can see the walls are a beige and the trim was a white. This was my guest bedroom and I really wanted it to spruce it up to help sell the home. So I decided to change up the trim color and hopefully get this room a little more pizzazz.

Clean all doors and trim

I removed The existing door handle and wipe down the tops of trim and the doors. As I said I had painted these all white when we moved in seven years ago. They were definitely in need of some love.

Painters tape
This was a pretty simple prep

This was a pretty simple prep, I put up my painters tape all the way around the trim. Super easy. Next I just needed to figure out what color I wanted to do. Since I’ve been on a gray thing and I had a lot of the paint left over I decided again to go with gray.

Adding gray paint
I was already seeing progress

It took two coats but the gray really just spruce up those closet doors. The white was worn and just didn’t do anything for the room and just adding this color made a world of difference in the guestroom.

Added warmth
Amazing difference

Well there you have it. Here is the finished closet doors in the guestroom. It is always amazing to me how a little bit of color can change the whole look up a room.

Wow

In a couple hours I was able to transform this room and make it much more pleasant to the eye. Since it made such a transformation I moved to the hall linen closet and painted as well I have added those pictures – the show you what a difference it like makes.

Here is the finished of the hall closet to show you really just how easy it is to change the look of something. I hope that this inspires you to change up the trim in one room. And FYI yes it did help sell the home. I am now rootless in a motorhome. I can’t wait to re-purpose in my new RV
