Boring to Glam Chest of Drawers

My client just graduated from college and is creating her first home. She was looking for a sturdy and large dresser for her new bedroom. She decided on this great "chest on chest" piece. The lines are great, the storage ample and it was in excellent shape. It just needed a glam, vintage inspired makeover.
Here is the after! She wanted to go with a neutral and I decided to give it a combo of Annie Sloan's chalk paint in creamy whites. The first few coats were done in Old Ochre and the top coat was in Old White.
I decided to toss those old, outdated drawer pulls and ordered gorgeous, cut glass pulls from D. Lawless Hardware. For the top, two smaller drawers I drilled new holes and filled the old in order to use a single knob instead of the larger handle.
Here you can see how the Old Ochre shows through the Old White, giving the piece interest and depth of color.
The distressing really makes the detailing pop and ties in with the rubbed bronze finish on the new pulls.
She is thrilled and I am so happy to have helped her with her new bedroom.
What a difference - a dresser redone for a young, modern home!

I got a similar dresser, mine has 3 bottom drawers, at Habitat a few years ago. I just stripped and put on another coat of poly. I wished I could change the pulls, but the wood is stained underneath. Thanks for the painting idea. I may just paint the drawers, but new pulls would be divine,

@The Painted Drawer by Suzanne Bagheri What color would you recommend for a nice maple? I just want to paint the drawers. I cannot decide.
