This hunky Bombay chest of drawers had strong bones but was in need of a makeover!! Check out his new style....
I found the dresser for $55 at Goodwill with no means of getting it home, but I KNEW I had to have it, so I called my niece who has a bigger car than mine and asked if she could drive 45 minutes to help me. I was so grateful she said yes!!! However, this piece is bigger than it looks and it DID NOT fit in the car. My next step was to call my Daddy who has a trailer n he gladly came to my rescue ... by driving 45 minutes to pick up my treasure! Don't I have the BEST family?
I put on 2 coats of black paint and allowed to set 24 hours between layers. And then the magic happens when I rubbed this copper guilding wax onto the drawer fronts.
Here is a closeup of the drawer fronts. I removed the hardware and spray painted it black.
Using a stencil I sponge painted a design on the side of the drawers.
