Dresser to Bench

So I got this dresser curbside. It was a disaster but now it lives the life it deserves.
It looked like someone was attempting to redo it since one of the drawers was sanded when we got it. I don't know if you can tell from the pic but the top was sagging in the middle causing the top and center middle drawers to stick when opening and closing. So we decided that it would not be a dresser anymore.
We cut off the top, gutted the 1st and 2nd rows of drawers and viola, a bench!!! We took the fronts off the drawers and mounted them to the back of the bench so it had a cohesive look. The bottom two drawers still functioned well so we left them for storage.
This is the original sides once the were stripped, they were actually very beautiful in their natural state. The top and back are trimmed with cedar we had from another project.
It is hard to believe that this beautiful wood was underneath that horrendous finish!
The bench seat has a bit of batting but not much but it is still very comfy.
