Dressing Table Makeover - Shabby Chic Storage #fabflippincontest

I found this dressing table and really wanted to make it special. I love using lace painting technique and thought this piece would be perfect for this technique.
This piece was pretty old and there were several scratches and dents.
This definitely needed fixing before it could be painted.
I sanded the surface to make sure I remove any scratches in the surface and have a nice and smooth finish. There was also quite a bit of chipped varnish which needed to be removed.I used some wood filler to fix the deeper scratches on the surface. I then sanded over once it was dry.
I used Annie Sloan Chalk paint to paint the dressing table.
I painted the drawers in white to have a little contrast and painted the drawer and shelf in dark pink.
I covered the drawer with net curtain and sprayed matching baby pink spray paint.
I removed the lace and this is the result
I transformed the old door pulls by sanding them down and painting them in dark pink.
I then sprinkled some gold glitter and sealed with clear varnish.
I then waxed and buffed the areas covered in chalk paint.
I added the door pulls and the mirror and the dressing table was ready.

This is the close up of the drawers, where you can see the glitter and the lovely lace.

Thank you, I am glad you like it. I went for a bold colour with this one, I was scared at first but I love how it turned out! :)
