Lavender Ombre Chest of Drawers

This commission is an example of 2 things:
1) I found and actually supplied the dresser
2) She gave me some creative freedom
I really enjoyed this commission because the client trusted me and I was only given a color scheme to go by. (There are lavenders in her child's room that she wanted to incorporate. You can see some examples of purples she emailed me that may go in the room).
I was also told that she wanted the dresser to be able to transition well over time, so not to choose anything too kid-like. I immediately thought of the Ombre design since it can easily suit well in a baby's room or a teenager's room.
The piece needed a lot of restoration:
- Build back the legs that had been water damaged. This is a process where I work with a product called Bond-o, which is mainly used on automobile restoration. Great, tough stuff but you have to be very quick and careful when working with it!
- Replace some drawer boards that had been warped and line them with contact paper (you can also use fabric if you wish).
- Complete cleaning and sanding of entire piece.
- Replace knobs.
- Design, paint, and lacquer.
Et voila!

It looks perfect in their room! Great job. Two things I adore: ombre and lavender :)
