I was given this dresser for free. It came at the perfect time as my friend is decorating her sons nursery in a nautical theme and was shopping for a dresser!
Paint and Primer were all that was used. Oh, and a little twine.
Check it out!!! Let me know what you think?
The before picture.
I took the hardware off, took the drawers out, scrubbed the entire dresser down with TSP and primed using a bonding primer.
While the Primer was drying I decided to dye the twine I was using red. I accidentally used food coloring instead of fabric dye...but it worked!!!
I let the twine soak in the dye for a full day/night.
2 coats of a latex enamel paint in a navy blue color. Eggshell finish.
I painted the drawers in the same paint, just white. I then used the twine I dyed for the hardware rather than the old hardware that came on it. I got this idea from a hometalker on this site. Brilliant idea!!!
And done!!!
Finished product.
My friend loves this and it matches her sons nursery perfectly!
