  • Look what I found! I have been wanting to this kind of ladies dresser for so long and was so excited to drag her home with me.

  • I had recently updated a Gentleman's Dresser (Blog post: A New Suit for a Gentleman) and now it was time to get some pretty on.
  • I sat and stared at her for a while and knew exactly what I needed to do. She reminded me of something from the Georgian era even though she was made in 1950.
  • she is quite cute but she was going to go to a ball and needed something to twirl
  • Lay them on the drawers on the floor and brought my idea to fruition.
  • Here is my design, I stick the appliques on with masking tape until I am sure I like it. Then I cut!
  • The beauty of these bendable moulds is that you cut them with regular scissors, you can cut them up and add bits to other bits

  • Once you have your design planned and cut now is the time to glue, be careful and wear gloves!
  • You can use a 'super glue' or a contact cement
  • Once glued in place and fixed I then paint all over the surface and the mould to embed the moulding and make it look like it has always been there!
  • When dry I then picked around the moulding with a soft green. Use a small artist brush if you need to
  • When all is dry I highlighted the raised parts with gilding wax in Renaissance Gold and a little copper paint
  • And here she is all prettied up, now she can go to the ball
  • Here is a video I did showing the dresser and a couple of other items. Have fun! You can buy the mouldings here Efex

  • A before and after view!
