$5 Bassinet Makeover
I recently bought a bassinet for my baby on the way and I wasn't 100% in love with it. The color around the legs and top was a rose gold/silver color and it just stood out to me. I decided to take some contact paper I found in the Dollar Spot at Target and give it a face lift! I love the way it turned out - it matches the rest of the baby things so much better!

Here's the before - nothing wrong with it but I just felt like the silver/rose gold color didn't go. In person the color is much more pinky.
Materials needed -
- contact paper (Target)
- scissors
- exacto knife
Step One - Disassemble Bassinet
To make things easier I took the bassinet apart. This made it much more manageable to put the contact paper on.
Step Two - Apply Contact Paper
I forgot to take progression photos of me doing this - I was very determined to get it on there since I had been thinking of doing this for about a week. It was a very simple process I wrapped the contact paper around the legs to see how much I would need, cut the size and then applied it to the leg. The hardest part of this project was using the exacto knife to cut around the screws and edges. This took longer than expected - around 2 - 2 1/2 hours but it was well worth it!
In my opinion the wood makes this bassinet look much more finished and goes together much better! Applying contact paper to something so small can have such an impact!
before + after!
The round edges definitely aren't perfect - I may take my heat gun to it to see if it will shrink the contact paper but it's doesn't bother me too much!

Nice. I do love contact paper and all the changes you can make with it.
