Sometimes it's worth to get stuck in traffic for a cool dresser.

Here she is a 9 drawer mid century dresser! Brown, boring sold for $50! But luckily it was sold to me, so it was about to have a bright new future

Good grain, lots of water rings and other veneer damage! A typical $50 find. First thing I did was sand down the old finish by using my orbital sander 120, 220, 320 sand paper grit.

This piece had a bottom base that I wanted to remove because I was going to add legs to this dresser. I marked my straight ( leveled) line with tape and used a jigsaw to cut of the acces wood on the sides.

Like I mentioned the dresser had other veneer damage so I decided to use veneer repair here. I made a cut in the old veneer and used some iron on veneer edging to make the repair. ( I get in more detail about that in my previous post about the two m8d century modern side tables)

Here we go all repaired! Nothing to see here! Once all the repairs were done and legs were added, I applied fusion mineral paint on the bottom part of the dresser in color 'bellwood'

I went ahead and white washed the top part of the dresser (1 third white paint 2 thirds water)

Once it was all done I covered it all in polyurethane clear coat and it was time for pictures.

Here is a picture of the white wash process. Dilute white paint 1:3 ratio and apply it with a paint brush then wipe back down with a rag.

Look at her on her gold stilettos! This piece sold very fast and it was worth all the work. If you like this transformation and would like to follow in real time follow me on Instagram @andreapalmai

Hi Andrea, Every time I see that bull skull I know your project will be gorgeous. You are one of the few people that knows how to use paint on wood and knows how to work with the style of the furniture. The legs are the perfect compliment. Thank you again for sharing another piece. :)
