Bed Frame Makeover / Farmhouse Style

I have been wanting to make some updates to our Master Bedroom especially our

bed frame.

I wanted to either change it with paint, buy something new, or build a headboard.

I chose to start with paint as it is the least expensive option,

and see what I thought after that.

So here is where this update started..

I started by removing the bedding/mattress, and I got to work sanding it all down. Which took a bit of time.

After I felt like I had the surface ready for paint, I used a damp cloth to wipe it all down and get the dust off.

Then it was time for the transformation to begin with paint.

It took several coats of paint letting it dry between coats to get the coverage that I wanted.

Once I was happy with the coverage I knew I wanted to give it a rustic

look.

So using a piece of sandpaper I went over the edges and different area's of the frame here and there and roughed it up a bit to give it that rustic, chippy, a little bit worn look that I love.

What a difference a little work and some paint can do.

I am so glad I chose to update our existing furniture instead of buying something new, I absolutely love how it turned out.

I have since updated more of the furniture pieces in this space and I am really happy with the progress I am making on our room update.
