Makeover a plain play table into a multi use table the kids won't get bored with.

Doesn't this look like a fun table?! It didn't look this way about 1 hour ago.

This is what it looked like an hour ago. Boring, beige, and unused. I asked for a play table for Christmas for the kids and this is what Santa brought. A blah, plastic beige table with boring brown chairs to match. What kind of company makes beige play tables? Play tables are suppose to be fun and colorful and make kids excited to play on it. My kids never played with this. Instead it became the sticker collector. Any sticker they got went on this table to cover it up. Nobody used it for coloring, play doh, blocks, nothing. So it sat, covered in stickers.

I managed to get stickers off and got it to its original form.

Did you know you can paint pretty much anything? It's true. I never liked the beige on this table so I took off the base and removed the top. I went to Lowe's and bought a can of spray paint primer, white spray paint, and chalk board finish spray paint.

I wish I would have taken some progress photos but this was super easy. Once I unscrewed the base and removed the top, all I did was spray it all with primer (it comes in a can of spray paint). If you are dealing with plastic for the finish it needs to be primed otherwise the paint will dry and flake off. Prime the base and the top. Next, I spray painted the base white and spray painted the top with a chalk paint spray paint. Let them dry and screw back together. I changed out the chairs from the plastic beige ones it came with and painted two wood chairs I had laying around a pistachio green to go more with the colors in my playroom. Ta-Dah! Quick and easy update and guess what? The kids actually played on it and loved writing all over the table in chalk.

Absolutely! I am a quilter and recently acquired an industrial church table used for serving coffee. After this treatment it will be in my sewing room as an accuquilt station. Thank you, so excited to do this. Mary Marshall
