Knowing the Theme this month was Animal I wanted to find a different way to use it on my project. While looking out at the meteor shower one night I was inspired to paint the ANIMALS in the sky. Come check out Ursa Major, Lupus and Leo...The STARS of the show! :)
Its day! Come see what animal theme I used on this nightstand!

Hello again my Beauties!

Its time again for another round of Themed Furniture Makeover.

This months theme was ANIMAL.

As I was kicking around what I wanted to do

I finally made a decision.

The only problem was...

I didn't have a piece of furniture to put my vision on.

I had some pieces in my garage but none that fit my vision.

This is until we were coming home from grocery shopping and saw some dinky little garage sale.

I quickly slammed my body against the window as I saw the perfect piece sitting there in someones driveway.

Hubby, being hubby pushed down the gas...

he was in no mood after grocery shopping to ALSO stop at a garage sale.

Luckily it was only about a mile from our house..so as soon as he pulled in the driveway I grabbed my keys, hopped in my car and drove back to the garage sale.
There it sat...waiting for me...

:)

I scooped it up for $7

and brought it home and started working on my vision.
I gave it 2 quick coats of a custom black gray.
When it was dry I used some white craft paint and FLECKED on some

"stars"
Then it was time for the fun..

and stress.

FREEHANDING constellations doesn't seem that intimidating until you start.

I used a fine brush to paint little stars in an artist's rendition of some animal constellations

on Ursa Major and Lupus the wolf.

I then drew free handed with the same brush the outlined animal of the constellations.
I had planned on going back and adding a few more constellations but time got away from me before my project was due.

I am thinking I may just leave it like this.

It is simply and not over busy.
I also added just the constellation without the outline of LEO to the top just

to add a bit more.

I really love how it turned out.

You know me...I love color, so it was fun to work with black and white and

try to do a fun little graphic.

I hope you like it too.

Now head on over to see what all my bloggy friends did for their

ANIMAL Themed Makeover.

I am sure they will not disappoint!

Until next time,

Have a BEAUTIFUL day!
