Hey all, I’ve been planning this project forever. Now I’m so excited to finally be bringing my vision to life for you. Re-purpose an old drawer as a shelf for storage!
To start, I lightly sanded all the surfaces to remove any imperfections/finishes. Then I wiped the piece down with damp cloth to remove any dust.
Next, I painted all surfaces colors to match the fabric I would be using.

Mark where I wanted the shelves to sit; and then screwed in the screw eyes (2 per side/4 per shelf).  I added some color to the shelves; but since these pieces were laminate, I wanted to keep the top surface intact for cleaning purposes. Then screwed the drawer pulls in original place.
I added the fabric by applying Modge Podge to the (original bottom) back of drawer. For best results, I would pre trim the fabric to fit.

Put  shelves in place, resting on the screw eyes; and there you have it, a great shelf for a small space. I love it! Enjoy :)
Suggested materials:
  • 1 desk drawer (curbside find)
  • ¼ yard fabric (leftover from another project)
  • 8 screw eyes – to support shelves
