DIY Furniture Makeover

My in-laws had this absolutely hideous bedroom furniture. It was ready for the tip, it was 40+ years old and beyond dated. But me being creative and browsing through Pinterest thought maybe I can save this! As it was going to be tossed away anyway they happily obliged. Paint was already on hand from house makeover so the cost was nothing just my time.
As you can see handles are miss matched and missing and because of the age of the furniture we were unable to find new handles with the same spacing.
I cleaned and primed the furniture, I probably could of sanded but I was not going to take on that mission! My initial thought was to paint over the grey primer in a different grey but once painted I actually really like the grey so left it.
I decided to do the side tables white, because the dresser and head piece were going to be grey and I didn't want it to be over powering.
My daughter helped with this bit... Bottom only of course. The bit no one will see
It took me about 6 hours to get all the painting done. Lucky it was a hot day so it dried pretty quick.
I painted over the pattern in white. And the results were beautiful.
I did grey on the pattern with this one. Baby wipes on hand for any little mistake.
I painted the cream handles white and it worked well.
I ended up taking all the original handles from the bedside drawers and luckily there was enough for the dresser. The end result is unreal.
Am really pleased with the end result and am happy to say it is no longer going to thrown in the garbage!

DI'd you seal it or do anything after painting to help protect the finish from chipping.
