How to Make an Upholstered Headboard for $25

I change up bedroom decor quicker than seasons come and go, so I had to find a quick, easy and cheap way to make a headboard. I've made way too many of these than I can count. It only takes about an hour of time to do, and if you are frugal less than $25!
This twin headboard cost me about $25. It includes plywood, batting, fabric and buttons.
The steps are really simple. All you have to do is secure the batting to the plywood, then secure the fabric to the wood also.
You can find the super easy technique I used to secure the buttons on my blog. And no, it does not require any string or thread!
I made these curves using a technique I remembered back from elementary school :)
I made this headboard for a full size bed for $20 using drapery lining. It stands on 2x4s to give it more height. To find the full tutorial on this one, visit: http://www.thriftyandchic.com/2010/10/20-plush-diy-headboard.html

I have been considering making a burlap pintucked headboard. Your design is easy and came out great. I have one question....What is batting & what is it’s purpose? Thanks Donna
