We bought an old antique bed frame to make into a entry way bench.

Footboard is cut in 2 and turned to attach to headboard, this forms the arms of chairs. The bedrails became the front.
One board had to bought for the seat of bench.
Painted it beige because the wood really didn't match the decor.
Lastly we distressed the paint and added pillows!

Was this a single or double bed? Usually I'm not much in favor of painting wood that's in good shape, but I have to admit this looks terrific. The design actually shows up more after it was painted than it did before. Great job!

Your window treatment on the door- is it window film, if so where did you get the design - love it!

I am also in the process of doing this with my mothers old antique bed. Question, what support and how did you support the seat? There is not enough wood for support on my footboard, and the nails will not be strong enough to support someone actually sitting on this.
