Geometric Painted Table Top

This month's Fab Furniture Flippin Contest theme is GEOMETRIC. When I found this sweet little table for $7.99 at my local thrift store, I thought that the uniquely shaped table top would be perfect for this theme.
Here's the shabby "before." The top had an eagle painted on the top, typical of the era, so I first sanded well to remove that.
Next I used General Finishes Gel Stain in Antique Walnut to refresh the finish on the top, and painted the base in a creamy white chalky finish paint.
Lastly, I taped off some random geometric shapes and filled them in with the creamy white paint. I call this "interpretive geometry", it looks just like my high school math homework, totally random and usually wrong! ;)
