Give an Old Side Table a Fresh Look and Make It New Again

A week ago my mom calls from a church garage sale to tell me everything is now free. Sent me some pictures of all the free furniture. This is one of the pieces she picked up free for me. I have been desperate to find a new larger side table to fit all my stuff. Alexa, clock, iPhone and I watch plug in and lamp. Takes up a lot of room.
Problem is, this Lane brand side table needed a new look and alittle lovin.
Out came the chalk paint and pickling paint and alittle time and a perfect side table is created. Cheap fix for under $10... could never get such a great side table for that price.
Here is this wonderful side table looking for a new look.
Lane brand which I guess is pretty expensive.
Washed off table before I started painting. Allowed to dry.
Applied chalk paint. Gathered all my supoes. Chalk paint, pickling paint (never used before, but was told it was like the wax I normally used. Not a fan of this but it worked).
Used dollar store paint brushes.
Look on drawer after chalk paint applied. Allow to dry.
Painted table with chalk paint.
while paint drying, I took knob and put on meat packing paper and brought outside. Grabbed an old can of black spray paint, and lightly sprayed on. Let dry outside for 20 min and re applied to all sides.
Finished look with spray paint.
Next is to apply pickling paint. I was told it was like wax, but I will say it applied differently and I didn't 100% like the look. But I was already all in.
I applied light coat of paint and then wiped off. Finished drawer.

I then applied oil to give a nice shine to the table. You leave it on for 30 min then wipe off and let dry.
Finished table in its new spot...

I can’t wait to see what else you did! When you painted the sides red, I was not expecting the color change that occurred. THE finish is interesting. ☺️

The pickling paint/stain would have looked better if applied to the wood instead of over the paint. It is designed to give a tint of color to wood. More layers can be applied to darken the color as preferred.
