Goodwill Chest to Nightstand

by Lori Kelly
I needed a nightstand as my old "new" bedroom chest of drawers and dresser did not come with one. I picked up this chest for $5.00 and had everything else.
After slight sanding.
I removed the doors and painted with an almond color. Then I took liquid school glue and a brush and brushed the chest with the glue. When the glue became tacky, I spray painted over that with a country blue paint.
Step by step, I attacked all sides. I painted the door knobs and the hinges dark brown to stand out. Then I let it dry overnight.
Here is the finished product. I put the doors back on, connected 3 baskets together with country blue raffia after deciding to leave them brown, and put them into the shelf where a drawer was missing.
I placed a piece of glass on top to protect it, and there it is! I love it!
