I needed a table to fit in between my two wing back chairs that I had just finished and I remembered that I had one I bought from a neighbor. It was the perfect size.
TABLE NEEDED SOME TLC
I knew that it didn't need sanded to use chalk paint but my husband got up one morning and decided to to me a favor and sand the top of the table. I stopped him and said it wasn't necessary. SO...to save a step...don't bother to sand the furniture.
HUBBY STAINED THE LEGS
Let hubby stain the legs. Then I painted the top with COCO Annie Sloan chalk paint. I liked the old weathered look so I painted and then wiped off some of the paint to show the under layer.
PRINTED FROM THE GRAPHIC FAIRY
I found a free french post card from www.thegraphicfairy.com
I used a lighter and burned the edges of the paper. Have a wet rag to blot the flame on the edges. Next, I used some of the coco chalk paint and brushed across the paper. I didn't like the white so I got a coffee filter pad like you get when you stay in a hotel and got it wet. I then squeezed it dry and then rubbed it across the paper until I got all of the white out and it was now a soft brown color.
DYE WITH COFFEE OR TEA BAG
Used a coffee filter with coffee in it to dye the white paper. Notice the burn marks around the paper.
APPLIED THE PAPER ON THE TABLE
I then used mod podge to apply the paper on the table applying only on the back side. I rubbed it with my fingers to get all of the bubbles out and all the edges down. Then I used 3 coats of Minwax clear satin polyethylene.
I put the table in between the 2 chairs that I had chalked painted a few days before.
FINISHED TABLE
This table finished was custom made to match my 2 wing back chairs that I had painted Coco Brown with Annie Sloan Paint.
MY HAPPY PLACE
I now have 2 chairs and a table that go together that I call my HAPPY PLACE.

Nice job. What was the name for the artwork? I keep trying the name you provided and it doesn't come up.
