Do you want to freshen up your stained furniture, without paint or without stripping the dresser back down to bare wood? Here is how to easily stain furniture without stripping or painting!

This is what we started out with. This dresser was still in good shape, other than the top. It had a few minor scratches and dings in the finish, but nothing major.

I wiped gel stain over the old stained finish to deepen the old finish and freshen it up.

Using gel stain is pretty simple. Lightly wipe it on with the grain, wait a few seconds and then wipe it back off. You can layer coats of stain to make the finish darker.

This is what it looked like after gel stain.

Since there were some big marks and holes in the top, I opted to paint the top white. I used white chalk paint.

I taped off the bottom of the dresser so paint wouldn't get on the freshly stained dresser and then I rolled the white paint on so I wouldn't get brush marks.

I love how the white top makes it look like it has a marble top, but it's really just a plain ole white painted top!

Love gel stain. I love the mix of paint and stain on furniture. Not all furniture needs to be just painted. Gives it character. Great share and great job. Looks amazing.
