How to Re-Do Side Tables |Quick Paint Project
Hi Hometalk! I would like to share with you a quick and easy side table makeover. This project only took 2 hours and hopefully, this will inspire you to update your old side tables imploring for a paint job.
These are the curb-shopped side tables I started with. For us furniture painters, we love side/end table projects. They are one of the most leisurely pieces of furniture to paint. And once they look good, they are very functional where you can place books or any type of decor.
The tables were cleaned up with TSP then sanded with 120 grit sandpaper using my orbital sander.
Then painted the table with this rich gorgeous green mineral paint. I am using an All-In-One chalk paint where it won't be needing any primer or topcoat. It really saves a lot of time!
After the first coat, I sanded the piece 220 grit sandpaper. Although the paint is self-leveling, it is my precautionary habit to sand my project between coats to secure a very good adhesion of paint. After sanding, I then applied the second coat.
To add some elements, I added gold using an artist's paintbrush to highlight the detail.
Staged with my plants! I really love the result!
The side tables! I am really amazed at how little paint can transform a piece! Color is really everything.
Here is the before and after. It is a really quick and easy makeover. And also don't hesitate to add little touch! It may be little as you may think but it can make a huge difference! I hope it's inspired you and try it on your future projects!
