This table was created by Organized Clutter. It's vintage, with a mid-century vibe!
I am thinking of a pastel for my table, which I think could double as a night stand as well.
It seems like older pieces of furniture with old wood stains and varnishes really can bleed through light colored chalk or mineral paints. Not any more!
My paint choice is Dixie Belle Chalk Finish Paint in Pink Champagne, a very light pink.
I am going to add "just a touch" of buffalo checking, using my beloved stencil from *Old Sign Stencils.
The stencil fit pretty well on the top shelf, width-wise.
I pounce the stencil. I like areas of lighter and darker paint. If the stencil is applied too uniformly, I think it looks more like a stencil. I think it seems more like buffalo check fabric with the differences in the (weave).I also stenciled the drawer front on the diagonal! I painted the original metal knob as well.I used Dixie Belle Best Dang Wax in Clear to seal my paint and stencils.
