Industrial Farmhouse Dresser
I love old dressers!! They’re just built so amazingly that it doesn’t matter if it was 50+ years old there is so much life left in it. This dresser was owned by the lady I bought it from when she was 12! First thing she bought making her own money. She’s now in her early 70s! I knew that what I was gonna find underneath the old varnish was gonna be gold 😻
Before!
First things first I had to pry off the old wood handles
2nd step was to sand off the old varnish… this was a lot more elbow grease than I thought it would take.
These drawers took me 2 hours to sand 🙀
3rd thing I did was pry off the chunky base from the bottom
Than I used my skill saw to cut the edges
this is what the bottom looked like after I was done!
Next step was to prime ! I did 3 coats
After priming I added 3 coats of a slight off white paint from SICO
Than I started staining the drawers! I used minwax special walnut for this!
Next I added new hardware that I got off amazon! Gold and opal 😻😻
I used the angle brackets with wood legs from Home Depot to spice it up! And make it a bit more modern. I stained these these the same as the drawers.
I primed the drawers and the dresser with polyurethane by minwax
And there you have it! I’m obsessed
