I love how modernized this dresser turned out! I’m all for keeping some of the original vintage beauty, but also it’s amazing what just knobs and colour change can do. This piece is forsale on my website ✌🏻

check out my Instagram reel for this piece

This piece came from a matching bedroom set, to which I did every piece different! You can find the other pieces in my Hometalk profile.

I didn’t want the original handles so I filled all the holes with bondo as the first prep step.

Bondo prep work.

The first thing I did was spray bin shellac primer in the edges with a aerosol can. With all the edging it can be a really pain getting in the grooves with a paint brush. From doing the other dresser to this set prior to this, I know how badly of a tannin bleeder this piece would be, so I didn’t want to take any chances.

I then rolled bin shellac primer on the edges and the drawer fronts.

I used a foam roller from the dollar store and tin foil to line the tray.

Then I filled my Wagner spray gun with behr paint, blackest black. And mixed by frosch powder in it. Diluted a bit with water and took to spraying!!

Black is not the easiest colour despite it being dark... it shows all the imperfections!!

Now to add poly top coat and drill holes for the knobs.

Oops lol. You think I would learn?!

These knobs were from amazon!

And I’m obsessed:)
