I bought these small end tables at a yard sale to use them as night stands.
The finishing on them needed some a lot of help. But I thought the were the perfect size and I love the detail work on them.
This project cost me less than $25.00. The table I purchased for 15.00 and the paint was less than 5.00, the other supplies I had on hand.
I believe they are made from solid Cherry Wood. I just love how the end project turned out.
I forgot to take a before photo, but these are after we sanded down the top and bottom shelves.
We didn't need to sand the sides and legs as I was planning on painting them.
After taping off the area's that I wanted to stain. I used a single coat of Valspar Project Perfect Latex enamel in a Black satin finish.
This was the first time I tried this paint and I love the finish and the usability of this paint. Plus you can buy it in a small half pint can, so no waste for a small project like this.
This was the table after removing the tape and paper. I love the look but I still wanted to stain the wood.
I tried a few colors on a sample piece but was not in love with them.

So I decide to stay with the cherry wood and just add a few coats of poly to protect it.
Here it is in the bedroom I was using them in. I Love the way it ties all the colors of the room together. The dresser I have in that room matches the table tops, and the legs match the headboard.
