It’s hard to find matching side tables while out thrifting. I can find plenty of singles but the pairs are hard to find.

But I got lucky and found these!

Here they are!

I knew the top had rings on top (also let this be a reminder to be kind to your furniture and always use a drink coaster)

I sanded the tops to get rid of those rings. Even when using chalk type paints those rings and flaws could show so I wanted to sand it down smooth first. I used my orbital sander and 120 grit then 220 grit after that.

I also scuff sanded the rest of the piece as well to give it some tooth.

Then two coats of a neutral gray green from Jolie paints called Legacy.

In the little details on front I added a light gray with a small artist brush. This tone on tone finish just gives them a more whimsical look.

Once sealed with clear wax I used Barkeepers Friend on those pretty hardware pulls.

And now these dated side tables feel fresh and on trend!
