this dresser is close to my heart! My little nephew was born 2 weeks ago! And before Jew as born his mama requested I refinish his nursery dresser for him. Needless to say, I was very excited!

These French provincial dressers were made with such nice wood. The side panels were made not with real wood but the rest was and it makes it so easy to work with!

It took a bit of sanding to get the old finish off, but I used 80 grit than 220, on the top and than scuff sand with 80 the rest.

Next I removed the hardware from the drawers and sanded those as well!!

Then I primed the frame and drawers with bin shellac zinsser primer x3 coats

Next I painted the drawers and frame with behr paint! And bb frosch chalk paint powder

I did 3 coats

Next I removed the old liners from the drawers… and it was a lot easier then it normally is to remove stuff like this. Thank goodness!

Why cover up such nice wood

I used minwax pre stain before I added espresso minwax stain

Look how rich this colour turned out!!

i added 3 coats of varathane top coat to protect!

And here it is! I added new hardware to complete this vintage dresser adding it with a modern flare.

( this dresser reminds me of branches and trees)

Beautiful job. I always love the mix of paint and wood on furniture. Looks amazing.
