Our Old Iron Bed Got a Shabby Re-do!

I had been wanting to give our bed a new look for quite a few years and FINALLY got around to getting it done along with adding some new additions to the room.
When we purchased our bed, many years ago, we chose to have it painted green.
I knew that I wanted a lighter look and going white and shabby was my choice. So, after prepping it with a light sanding I mixed up a batch of white chalk paint and gave it a few coats.
After a few hours a gave it a "wet distressing" to create some chipping and wear. Next, I gave the white paint some more aging with a light touch of antiquing and finished it with a few coats of clear paste wax.
It now has the look that I was after and you can see more pics of it and our Romantic Retreat on my blog!
