A few years back we had a bathroom put in adjacent to our guest room. We had an old dresser lying around that I knew would be perfect in the space but it needed some love! With a few supples and a few hours we turned this old dresser to something that fits our bathroom space perfectly and looks brand new

The before

As you can see the dresser was in good shape it just needed some love and a little paint!

Mixing paint with plaster of Paris

For this project we used Benjamin Moore chantilly lace and mix it with plaster of Paris . The plaster of Paris gives it that chalky look and the best part? No sanding required! You can pick up plaster of Paris at any hardware store for under 10$

mix 1/3 cup plaster with 1/3 cup cool water until dissolved

mixt the plaster and water now with about 1.5 cups of your latex paint into a canister and get painting!!

Painting

We used a two inch brush for this and just did 2 coats in even strokes around the dresser. ( removing hardware makes it much easier to get those drawers tackled )

Voila!

After about 2 hours this dresser is looking like something right out of a catalog! It fits our space perfectly and we are beyond happy with the results. For a small investment you can make any old piece of furniture lying around like new again!!! Be sure to follow us on Instagram for lots of fun projects and home decor! @spoonfulofsugar_ct
