Don’t make the same mistake like me and have to paint your vanity twice!! Our vanity isn’t too old because our house was built in 2007 so I didn’t feel like it needed to be replaced. It just needed a little love. I decided to paint it and change out the hardware. I painted it Oyster Bay first which is a very pretty color but didn’t fit the look I was going for so I had some Benjamin Moore Hale Navy in our garage and painted it that over the Oyster Bay! I love how it turned out. We also replaced the mirror and I’m hoping to do some more fun stuff to this bathroom so stay tuned!!

Before

Took off the cabinet doors to sand and prime and paint

Tape around the vanity before I paint so I don’t get it on the walls

primed it with kilz after I sanded it with a sand block

First cost of Oyster Bay

priming the cabinet doors on a drop clothe

Wasn’t what I was wanting.

Painting the boxing of the vanity

This was my first coat of BJ Hale Navy

Second coat

Sheetrocking the wall since the old mirror messed it up.

First coat of primer

First coat of paint

The hardware I bought at Lowe’s

All done. Hung the mirror back up and put the cabinet doors back on.

Love the navy! The new mirror is a modern and trendy take on the original. It looks fantastic!

You did a great job. I also love the navy. Looks great. What I like to do is three coats of a water based polyurethane on anything I paint (except walls). Added protection of the finish.
