Pallet Headboard Made to Fit a Full and Queen Size Bed

Vintage Headboards
by Vintage Headboards
We created a headboard that can be used for both a full size bed and queen size. The process started by disassembling a number of pallets. Be prepared to have you teeth rattled when using a Sawzall. First, we cut the pallets apart then drop the nails out. The vertical pieces are 30" tall.
We made our frame using pocket hole joinery then painted it black so that you won't see the color of the wood coming through between the vertical boards.
The time consuming process begins with staining then sanding and staining and sanding each of the pieces as we use 5 different colors of stain to achieve this look.
Before securing them we lay them out side by side.
Next they are secured, we add a side skirt and our crown molding shelf. We want to make sure the main part is sealed with a number of cotes of Polycrylic. Lastly, we paint the sides and crown molding shelf.
