DIY Headboard
what size bed? I made this headboard for a visiting grandchild. The shape I found for free, the batting and fabric I found for free and this is against an attic wall so I could fasten it on the other side of the wall. It is a piece of fibreboard, covered with batting and fabric which are stapled on the backside. I also put a cleat on the wall to support the board.
You could use an old door, or some fencing, or a screen, or a quilt, or some fabric.
It will depend on the style and type you want. You can hang artwork, a mirror, decor items, or vinyl on the wall. If you want a tufted headboard, there are several projects on the site to help you with that.

I made one by cutting up a 4x4 into blocks and staining them. You can see how I did it here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2015/03/how-to-diy-wood-block-headboard.html
