I picked up a cute baby bassinet at a local thrift store and thought that after a coat of paint and some distressing it would be perfect for my daughter to use for baby doll storage. Follow along with these steps and you can refinish any thrift furniture you come across. Enjoy!
Refinished Baby Bassinet
*Paintbrush that fits the size furniture you’re painting
*Eggshell paint (I used Graham and Brown in white)
*Sandpaper (I used 220 grit)
*Microfiber cloth (I used Norwex)
Scrub your furniture with a damp microfiber cloth.
Lightly sand. You’ll want to rough it up enough that the paint sticks nicely.
Scrub off any residue from sanding.
Apply a thin coat of high quality primer.
Once the primer is completely dry, add your first coat of paint. Let this coat dry and apply another coat of paint if needed.
Distress the places that would naturally get distressed over time with your sandpaper. I like to do the edges and corners and any other places that I would easily bump up against.
That’s it! I am so impressed with the Graham and Brown paint. It went on smoothly and the finish is perfection.
Baby girl is going to love it. Thanks for following along!
