I found each of these two items being thrown away at different times in competly different places.
They each had a kind of vintagey look to them. I've been using them separately for years in different corners of my house.
I just moved into a new place and was in need of a nightstand so I decided to try getting these two finds together and see what I could come up with.
It's a pretty interesting piece and I works great in terms of having space for all the things I need.
I used a hammer and nail to create holes in strategic places along the bottom side of the olive tin.
I placed the tin on top of the crate and then fasted it to the crate by hammering in nails through the holes I had already made. This part was quite difficult because it was hard to access the inside of the tin and nail it down. The opening in the tin wasn't too big and so it made hammering angle quite awkward. I managed to maneuver my way in and get it stuck on tight enough..
All that was left was to find the right places for my bedside necessities.
