This is a 1988 toy trunk box I had bought my son on his birthday when he turned 2 years old.
Paper was bubbled and peeling and frame was rusted after so many years in garage. I was using it for storing records.
I started peeling as much paper as I could before I started what I had in mind.... Modge podge!!!

I painted it with acrylic red color and a deep beige on rusted frame area. I then applied scrapbook paper from my stock supply cut to size on each side and brushed brown acrylic paint randomly. I rubbed it off with a rag to make it look rustic followed by 3 applications of modge podge.

My married son got his toy box back but now a transformed hunting box for his hunting items.. By the way it was his birthday gift for his 29th birthday !
My finished product and it was a big WOW!!
