DIY Rustic Headboard.
I needed to add something to my boring bedroom walls so decided to start by making a headboard. I took some old corrugated tin, pallet board, leftover interior paint, and cut letters from my Silhouette machine! Created a simple rustic headboard!
Rusty corrugated tin cut to size.
Laying the tin out flat to attach small boards to the back.
Connected some small boards to the back of the tin creating a headboard.
Single pallet board
Pallet board painted with leftover interior latex semi gloss paint in Partridge Gray.
Letters made with my silhouette machine
Finished Rustic Headboard
Post Update April 17, 2018
We recently moved and painted the wall behind the rustic headboard a brighter color. I love the new look, I think the brighter color helps the rustic headboard pop!icon
Here it is at a little different angel. The arm chair to the left and the window picture frame to the right are a couple other projects that we have done. You can find those on my Hometalk page listed as
Reupholstered Chair and Old Window Picture Frame!

Thanks Norma for your insight. I wonder if the edges and screws could be tacked with a bit of caulk or silicone to soften. LOVE this!!

Thank You! We have not had any problems with the headboard, but Norma does make a very good point. Before hanging the headboard we hammered several of the wholes in the best we could. I like your idea to try some silicone to soften them.
