Well I’m finally getting back into my projects after the cold has passed. It’s been a long while since I’ve posted. I was given this little table by my neighbor, she was headed for the trash. my neighbor is crafty too but she doesn’t redo furniture. She knew I’d love it, she left it waiting for me in my garage. I’m sorry about the picture quality I’ve got to remember to take better before photos.
The first thing I did was wipe it down really good with TSP to get any funk off.
next step I began sanding it lightly to rough it up some. And cleaned the table again with TSP. Once dried over night I started with my heirloom traditions dove grey paint. I gave it one coat. Then thought it’s going to need two. I really didn’t know what I had in mind when I started the table. I just went with it. at first I just planned on staining the top.
One coat
bad photo after one coat of heirloom tradition grey. i decided no cover it completely and dry brush with your blue and stain all over. So thatS what I ended up doing. I left the table to dry with the gray and the next day began dry brushing heirloom traditions Camelot blue. once that dried I distressed a little bit, with my 150 sanding block and added mini wax wood stain in red mahogany and immediately wiped it off. No poly or wax left it to distress more naturally.
