Stunning Dressing Table
I bought this on a local site and I thought the cream colour didn’t do much for it!!!
so I decided on a pastel green with bronze details and a crushed velvet fabric for the seat!!!
let me know what you guys think???
Before -
Colour choice - fusion mineral paint in brook!
Prep prep prep
Some parts had warped so I sanded them back
Sand sand sand
To get a smooth finish before I paint
I decided to take the back off and I thought the mirror could come out.
But it didn’t! So taken off the back was pointless but sure I did it anyway!!!
And the first coat is on - this colour has amazing coverage!
The little details on this are beautiful but I have to use a brush with a dabbing technique to get into all the little areas!
I’m lovvvvving this colour!!!
The front drawer!
Using a tiny brush to get into the small parts around the mirror!!!!
Trying to get the mirror in the right position to get every side of it!!!!
Second coat!!!!
Close up of the second coat!!!
This is what I chose to enhance the details! But using it very lightly
Before
After
So using a dry brush with a tiny amount of paint I just brushed over the detail
Look at that detail
I think the bronze has made a huge impact on the green
continue onto the stool and the rest of the detail!
let it dry for 24 hours and then apply the top coat
Top coat
Cut fabric around the top of the stool enough to stretch around the bottom!
Fold it in nicely around the corners and double check it before securing with the staples!!
Continue all around
And here this stool is finished!!!
finished end put back together
I am thrilled with how this turned out - it was a big project!!!
