This dresser makeover is pretty extreme don't you think? From dark and dreary to light and airy with a very Scandinavian vibe.

The dresser has great classic bones but the original vintage glossy dark finish needed to go.

I tried a new stripper on the drawer fronts as they are solid wood called EZ Strip paint and varnish stripper. It is water based and low VOC.

Once I scraped off the finish as best I could (middle) I power sanded to bare wood (lower). Such a huge difference from the original.

Isn't that wood grain amazing? It is going to add so much to this dressers final look.

To enhance and seal the gorgeous wood I rolled on Dixie Belle satin clear coat with a microfiber roller.

The body was painted 3 coats  Dixie Belle silk paint in saltwater. Between each coat of paint when dry the surface was lightly sanded with a Dixie Belle sanding sponge.

Using the roller and Dixie Belle satin clear coat I added a subtle reflective pattern over the white paint with the royal damask Dixie Belle stencil.

I changed out the original tiny gold top knobs for these gorgeous glass knobs from D Lawless Hardware.

The pulls were scrubbed well then a coat of Dixie Belle Slick Stick was applied to provide great adherence for the paint. 2 coats of the saltwater paint on all sides drying well between coats.

I'm not big on painting beautiful wood furniture. Was so happy to see how beautiful this was.
