A Table That Really Measures Up

I'm so glad I didn't pass on this vintage table when I saw it at a moving sale. It had sat out under a carport and had endured the elements for years. It was in bad shape, but it was a classic style and I knew with a little love it could be great.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.
I had been collecting vintage yardsticks over the years waiting for the perfect project. And this was it!
The yardsticks were long enough to cover the bottom and top of the table with a little leftover.
I lined them up so that the yardsticks on the bottom matched the ones on the top. The yardsticks are glued down with wood glue to make for a fun table.

I have a set almost identical to this and they are step end tables. I've been wondering what I could do with them. Now I know. Did you remove the leather inlay on the top?

Well, I am late to find this post but I feel compelled to respond. I love love love this table. The use of the different colored yard sticks or rulers are VERY eye catching. I’m all about using things “out of the norm”. This falls into that bracket to me. Great job and great share!
