Vintage Doll Bed Makeover

With St. Patrick's Day and Spring just around the corner I couldn't help but revisit this adorable vintage doll bed painted in the most vibrant and lovely green.
I found this vintage, solid wood doll bed one day and knew instantly that one of my nieces (or all!) would love it. As is the case with most of the things I find, it was in pretty sorry shape but was a beautifully built little piece of furniture.
My niece that would be the recipient of the doll bed, Gracie, is a spunky and lovely little girl so I wanted the paint to reflect her personality.
I painted the body of the doll bed with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint in beautiful Antibes Green. This colour is so full of life and you can't help but smile when you see it :)
I wanted to add some pretty details to the bed so painted all of the little spokes in a custom mix of Emperor's Silk and Pure White Chalk Paint. These little spokes took longer to paint than the entire rest of the piece but in the end the impact was worth it.
To add another touch of fun, I used a stencil to add some flowers and polka dots on each end with the same custom mix of Chalk Paint.
I love the mix of the green and pink and love how the flowers add a sweet, delicate touch.
This was a pretty easy, although not quick!, project and of course, as I guessed, my niece is in love with her "new" doll bed and keeps it loving placed at the end of her bed every night.
