Check this room out for all the re-makes and painted items. Many of the decorations were given to me, or I had already.
I bought the Anchor print fabric which matched my theme. But used a less expensive flannel fabric for the lining. Battling was used between the fabric to keep the boys nice and warm. I also sewed cute little Navy, Red and White themed buttons on the blankets to keep the battling in place. Navy satin was sewn on the top. Because all kids love satin between their fingers.
Here you can see the window curtain matches the colors I used. Also one of the blankets.
Trundle bed in a Navy color, with tan, navy and white bedding. All from Wayfair's, Joss and Main.
I had these boats in my recreational room, they had a green color paint on the outer wood. I had paint made to match the new bed and dresser. I dry brushed very lightly over the outside. This gave them a blue old wood weathered look.
Someone had given me this little wood chair. To update the chair I painted it to match the bedroom. The boys love these little chairs.
Same for this chair, it was given to me. All I did was secure the wood with some glue and then two coats of Navy paint. Some of the wood support pieces were popping out.
I painted the two difference sized milk crates and the lamp which was given to me with the same navy paint.
This old dresser has moved with me 7 times. I bought it in Woolworth's for $25.00 from baby sitting money. Again I just painted it and then sprayed the handles with a nickle paint to match the other dresser handles. I used a $1.00 place-mate on the dresser top.
I bought this chest at a craft store. Stained the outside wood then painted the inside a pretty blue. We use it for some of the children's books.
Here you can see the window, white crib, dresser from Joss & Main, changing pad, and more Nautical wall decorations and the round port window shaped mirror, that hangs by thick rope.
I had this wood shelf. All I did was paint it with the navy paint. The sailboat was also given to me. With the new furniture, bedding, and painting, the entire room was less then $500.
