Girl's Bedroom Redesign

We moved into our current house two months ago, and one of the rooms on my hit parade was to redesign my 6 year-old daughters room! She chose fuchsia and a fancy light and a fancy mirror and pillows. I was able to deliver most of the items on her wish list, and she's thrilled! I'm not a biiiig fan of pink, but seeing the smile on her face when she sits in her bed is worth it! I have a full source list on my blog if you're interested in where anything is from. As always, paint and decor make all the difference in the world!

The curtain fabric was the jumping off point for the room. I already had the lovely green bed so decided to keep the green to tone down alllllll the pink. To balance the bright colors around the room, her desk area is a little more neutral. That bamboo headboard is a favorite of mine so I was thrilled to bring it in for some wall decor!

Here's how the room looked before! SUPER yellow walls, and lots of stuff.

Another glimpse of how this room looked right when we moved in... the dress up dresser went into another room to free up space for the desk.
The new paint on the walls, the bright pink touches and all the other thrifted items have transformed this room!
We've since repainted and added a new desk with more storage for all her arts and crafts. See the tutorial for this makeover here!
AND.... for my spring home tour, I made that lovely pillow out of a table runner! See how here!

Where did you get the elephant print? And what a beautiful room. She can live in it for years because of the way you designed it and she won't outgrow it quickly.

Where did you find the curtains? Looking for new pattern drapes.

I truly love how you gently used the fusia here. My daughter just bought a home and will be able to do her decore, painting, etc... A head of move in. This is a perfect idea for my soon to be 4 granddaughter who always voices purple as her favorite color. I shared your diy with her hoping she will use at least some of your ideas here! Thank you so much for sharing!
