Terra cotta pots are one of my favorite products to create indoor and outdoor projects! I have 5 creative ways to use these inexpensive gems!

You can purchase a variety of terra cotta pots and saucers at your local craft or hardware store for $.50-$2.50.

1. Bird Bath Planter
Hot glue or super glue a large saucer, upside down small pot and medium saucer together to create a simple birdbath. Fill the rim of the large saucer with rocks, soil, succulents and then top with sand. Add water to the top saucer and get ready for the birdies to enjoy a bath!

2. Ring Bowl
Paint a small saucer with your favorite acrylic paint to create the perfect size ring bowl. I am currently obsessing over Folk Art's Color Shift paint. When it hits the light you can see highlights! If you want to get really fancy add a stencil.

Add rubber stoppers or pads to the bottom to avoid scratching your counters. You can purchase these at your hardware store or on Amazon.

3. Utensil Holder
Paint a medium sized pot with chalkboard paint to create a utensil holder for your next backyard barbecue. Accent with twine and your favorite color chalk. Feel free to use either acrylic brush on chalkboard paint or spray paint chalkboard paint. I discovered this new blue chalkboard spray paint from Krylon and I love it. If you want to use a brush on acrylic chalkboard try Martha Stewart brand.

4. Coaster
Turn a medium saucer into a coaster! Paint the saucer with your favorite paint, cut a circle of cork to fit the inside of the saucer and attach the cork to the saucer using Glue Dots.

Use rubber stoppers or felt pads on the bottom of the saucer to avoid scratching counters.

5. Candy Jar
This might be my favorite project! I can't wait to use this at my next party. You need a medium pot, small saucer, drinking glass (rounded), medium saucer, knob, ribbon, letter sticker, chalk paint, super glue. Paint the terra cotta pieces with chalk paint or your favorite acrylic paint. Attach the pot and small saucer using super glue. Attach the glass to the small saucer using the super glue. Attach the knob to the top of the medium saucer using super glue. Add a sticker letter to the pot or stencil a fun message. Add a ribbon and fill the glass with candy and TADA!
