I love all kinds of jewelry but all my jewelry was in a mess in my jewelry box. I decided to create an easy table top jewelry holder using a few pieces of scrap wood. It is a super easy project and does not require any major woodworking skills
Start with 3 pieces of scrap wood - a 1 x 4 and two 2 x 2. The lengths don't have to be specific. I used roughly 8" each but you can decide based on the size you need for the finished product.
Using 1/2″ drill bit make holes in one of the 2″ x 2″ boards.
Give everything a quick coat of paint. I used white spray paint.
Glue the 2 x 2 to the 1 x 4 using a strong glue and add a 1 1/4" screw from the bottom for extra stability. Mark off 1" sections on the back of the 2 x2 and staple (affiliate) floral wire to it. Take a look at the video in the original blog post to see how it is done!
Attach the 3/8" dowels in the holes in the 2 x 2 using a strong glue. Also add a few 5/8" cup hooks to the other 2 x 2.
The jewelry holder is ready! You can hang necklaces, bracelets and earrings and it looks pretty sitting on the vanity or counter. Be sure to check out the original blog post for more details, a video and more pictures. I made another version of jewelry holder that goes on the wall which works great too if you don't have counter space.
Enjoyed the project?
